Two weeks

When we first arrived at the bungalow two weeks ago, weary after our journey from south west France, we only had the furniture that we'd brought back in the trailer.  So supper that evening was chilli served on an upturned stool balanced on a chest.

Our bed for the first night was a blow up air bed.  We didn't sleep particularly well.

Day two saw the arrival of our furniture but Kat's room was dark and gloomy and overstuffed with wardrobes.

Two weeks' later....

We have a dining room.  I have hung curtains since this photo was taken.

We have a bedroom...

... and Kat's room now feels light and airy since removing half the wardrobes.

Still much work to be done.

  1. Your new to you home is starting to look quite habitable - may you long enjoy living there.

  2. Little by little it will all come right. I start on my sitting room in a fortnight, exactly a year since I moved in.

    1. I think we need to slow down a bit now, step back and take stock.

  4. I found you at your post about grannies tea set. We are in catering and do afternoon teas on vintage crockery and have a huge collection so that post caught my eye.

Once I realised that you had just moved back from France I gradually went through your older posts and have now gone back to you making the decision and selling your house in France.

I didn't feel able to comment until I had caught up a bit on your background. I feel sure that you will soon make this feel like your home and will be happy here. It was a momentous decision, both moving to France and then moving back again. I admire your adventures and will be interesting to see your new life taking shape. You have made a start and gradually everything will into place.

  8. I remember when I bought my house in Brighton. I bought a cheery Chinese takeaway for us all, then we tried to sleep in the car. The furniture van arrived the following day.
