We had quite a big storm overnight, although I slept through it all. A small chestnut tree was uprooted just up the road from here, blocking our route on Rick's morning walk. Some rain came down too; Paul's favourite gardening shoes in the porch got soaked. It's been raining on and off all day, the parched ground is just soaking it up.

I took advantage of the rainy day to finish sewing Rick's kennel. It was quite a wrestling match with the sewing machine but the repairs are all complete, ready for his next expedition.

The second picture could easily invite lurid comments but being a cultured Yorkshire gentleman I refuse to stoop so low.
ReplyDeletePaul was definitely stooping low.
DeleteIt's rained all day here.
ReplyDeleteSun's out again here. No more rain forecast but cooler temperatures.
DeleteLight showers here but that's all - not enough to do any good.
ReplyDeleteBig floods further south in France.
DeleteNot enough rain for Cepes. When I got up yesterday (5 am) the lightning was still going on in the West. It was continuous, and very beautiful. At that hour I don't suppose many saw it. I had a blood test at 6 am.
ReplyDelete6 am for a blood test? Wow, that's what I call an early start.
DeleteDo tell Paul that the kennel is not a playground for him !
ReplyDeleteBoys will be boys.
