setting off through the hamlet |
I took my camera with me on Rick’s walk to try and capture the beauty of the
chestnut woods in the afternoon sunlight.
Put your walking boots on and come with me...

I'm going to miss these walks while we are away in the winter. The chalk hills of Wiltshire don't have the same sort of beauty for me as this French countryside.
It will all be waiting for you when you return next year Madame - assuming of course that the loggers have left some chestnut trees standing!
ReplyDeleteThe young chestnuts re-grow very quickly, the landscape recovers in no time at all.
DeleteLooks like Thetford Forest in Breckland.
ReplyDeleteI must google Thetford Forest and have a look.
DeleteThetford Forest is another good area for Tics!
DeleteThey are everywhere, all the deer have them.
DeleteEither way, you are a very lucky lady.
ReplyDeleteThat's what I tell myself.
DeleteRick must be excited. Off on a new adventure. I just heard on the radio; best Turkey, Tesco, best Christmas pud', Lidl.
ReplyDeleteI think he will be a bit confused by it all.
DeleteWhy return to the UK ?
ReplyDeleteVarious reasons that we can't ignore, family, property, medical etc.
DeleteHappy memories to treasure through a long, cold, dark winter. I think Rick will miss it more than you do, he's been so used to the freedom.
ReplyDeleteIt will be hard for him but at least he will be reunited with the rest of his pack at Christmas.
DeleteSad, but exciting Rick can walk in Longleat woods!
ReplyDeleteThis is true, Heaven's Gate here we come!
