Not everyone likes the garish
orange colour of marigolds but every year our nursery gives us a few free
plants when we buy our geraniums in spring. Some are planted alongside the tomatoes in the potager and the rest are planted alongside the house steps, they look quite pretty against the stark
stone.
It’s impossible to train a dog not
to chase bees and butterflies (not to mention wasps and hornets). The large
carpenter bees have been particularly attracted to the marigolds and Rick has
taken great delight in leaping from the steps straight into the marigolds. They are now looking somewhat flattened.
It wasn't me who did it... |
Hang on. I thought marigolds were rubber gloves for use in the kitchen!
ReplyDeleteOnly the pink or yellow variety.
DeleteLOL Our dog thought my beautiful orange California poppies would make a good bed!! Flattened now!
ReplyDeleteDelicate plants and dogs don't mix well.
Deletegood watch dog. Well, good to him. Hope they don't sting him!
ReplyDeleteI fear he will learn the hard way.
DeleteIt's not called a flower BED for nothing!
ReplyDeleteHe's not allowed in the potager unless he's tied up.
DeleteInnocent look.
ReplyDeleteFinally today is here and your daughter arrives. Enjoy!
Greetings Maria x
Kat is here and snoozing on the sofa. She was working late shift last night. Sarah arrives Sunday.
DeleteThursday today and off to the airport. Will
ReplyDeleteRick the dog go for a ride? Have fun x
Paul said Rick should stay at home but I persuaded him otherwise. He behaved beautifully in the car and was there to leap all over Kat when she came out of the arrivals hall. I think they will get on well together.
DeleteThe little chap has got to have a hobby ! He looks somewhat disgusted that you should even think he'd do such a thing !
ReplyDeleteHave fun with the girls.
Rick is definitely going to have fun with the girls.
