tomato soup for lunch |
We were having lunch today when
Rick started barking and alerted us to presence of a white van driving past the
house. We were expecting a courier to
deliver Sarah’s suitcase today so Paul ran outside and chased the van up the
road. He managed to catch up with the
courier in the middle of Monsieur Escalier’s farmyard and eventually re-appeared
trundling Gandalf the Grey across the field.
At least Sarah can ditch the big white pants now.

Paul trundling Gandalf back home |
It is wonderful having both my daughters
here and when they are sitting on the sofa giggling and laughing, watching
rubbish television, it’s like the clocks have been turned back about fifteen
years. Sarah is putting on a brave face
but the veneer is very fragile and I can see that she is struggling. Hopefully the time she spends here will give
her the strength to re-build her life; we can give her plenty of love, laughter
and wine while she is here.

Rick and my girls |
There is nothing like being home with a happy, loving family for starting the healing process.
ReplyDeleteShe doesn't have to try to be brave now she's home. If she wants to cry, then she can cry.
DeleteI hope all goes well for you and Sarah starts to see out the other side and gains some strength being with you all. It is hard but she will get there.
ReplyDeleteIt will be a long time before she trusts anyone again.
DeleteYou look happy,it is wonderful to have your children around for a while.
ReplyDeleteThe next couple of weeks will go all too quickly.
DeleteLovely family photo of you, the girls and Rick. Wishing Sarah every happiness in the future and hoping that she will soon be able to put this distress behind her.
ReplyDeleteThank you, one day she will stop hurting so much.
DeleteHow wonderful to have both your girls at home. It's good to have family around when your heart I'd breaking.
ReplyDeleteIt's great that she finally made it home, hugs aren't the same on Skype.

This is a rare and precious time for us Maria.
DeleteJust being home with Mum and Dad will make a difference. Family is a great healer.
ReplyDeleteI hope so Helsie.
DeleteFunny how our minds can wander; you said 'chasing white vans', and I instantly thought O.J. Simpson. LOL
