Knowing Your Onions

It feels like a very lazy day today.  Beautiful sunshine and too hot to do anything energetic.  Paul has hurt his back so I’m on dog walking duty.  Apart from strimming the rockery and preparing some meals I have been sipping cold wine in the shade and reading my Kindle.  I picked a book at random, it’s a mystery murder set in the cold and misty Shetlands, rather at odds with my present surroundings.

My view from the terrace should be idyllic but I am gazing out at a line of onions Paul has put out to dry along the top of the wall.  They have a certain beauty of their own.

  1. Onions look good, we've not had any luck growing them here, too wet. Hope his back is better soon.

  4. Oh dear. I am sorry to hear that Paul has a bad back. I hope it feels more comfortable very soon. Perhaps you could go on You Tube to find gentle exercises that might help.

    1. Is that raw, cooked or do you have to rub them on the affected area?

    2. It was probably pulling the onions that caused the bad back!

    1. Definitely best to keep moving, but probably not dog walking with a boisterous beast.

    2. I'm trying to. I still managed to eat loads and sample various types of alcohol.
