I have my feet up and Paul is
waiting on me. This should make me very
happy but it does not. I have a bad knee and I can’t cycle and I can’t walk the
dog.
I’m not sure what is wrong with my
knee. Google suggests things like cartilage
tears and other scary things; it’s
probably best not to look at Google.
Most of the time the joint is not painful and then suddenly it locks up
and hurts like hell. This morning it
seized up completely and it was only after some ibuprofen and a glass of red
wine that I was able to ‘unlock’ and move again. Rick has sensed something is not right with
me and has been cuddling up.
Consulting a doctor will be a very
last resort so in the meantime I have strapped it up and will continue to take
the ibuprofen and red wine. I need to
get fit before my special guests arrive in two weeks’ time.
Phew, no more agility training |
You have my sympathy, I have a bad knee that I have to "baby" from time to time. They can be so painful and like you the last thing I want is to go to the doctor. Have another glass of wine.
ReplyDeleteThe wine helps!
DeleteGet Paul to massage it every day, a serious 10 to 15 massage session. I also use ibuprofen gel. Good luck and be prepared to be patient.
ReplyDeleteI'm not very good on patience.
DeleteGPs over here are not very good on knees, I learned that in Macedonia. Sports physios are much better.
DeleteI had to stop my cycling career due to a bad knee. I was just thinking recently that the knee is so much better now that I could probably start again. Maybe not. I hope yours improves quickly.
ReplyDeleteI've hardly been on my bicycle at all since we got Rick. I blame it on all the walking!
DeleteI dreamt about cycling last night; it must have been your doing!
DeleteHa-ha! Hope it was all down hill.
DeleteKnees are very important...and for that reason perhaps you need to find out what is wrong with it so you can try to minimise the damage ??? I am off to a physio myself next week to try to sort my knee problem out as I want to be able to walk through the countryside when we holiday in the UK next year( hopefully).
ReplyDeleteYou're right, if it's still playing up when I return to the UK later in the year I shall get it investigated further.
DeleteMust say that Rick doesn't look too distressed at the thought of no more agility training for a while.
ReplyDeleteJust go easy on the ibuprofen.....
I managed to get through yesterday without any painkillers. A bit heavy on the wine though!
DeleteSo I presume Wine is an oral administration medication?
ReplyDeleteI hope your knee gets better soon Sue.
Greetings Maria x
We were at a party yesterday so I really didn't have a choice!
DeleteToo much Let's Twist Again, skiing, kneeling (at prayer), kneeling (at housework) or this keep fit on a bike? Careful with too much wine or your elbow might need treatment.
ReplyDeleteIt must have been all that praying.
