National Grass Mowing Day

Jean-Paul mowing this morning
Sunday morning, the sun is shining and the only sound you can hear is birdsong and .... lawn mowers!  It’s like being in suburban England on a weekend.  Everyone in our small French hamlet is mowing their grass this morning at the same time.  Is it a national grass mowing day?  What’s happened to my haven of peace and tranquility?

  1. On Saturdays we often wake to the sound of machines of grass destruction. When we don't I worry that the zombie apocalypse may have happened.

    1. It's quite unusual for everyone to be mowing here at the same time, there are only half a dozen houses in our hamlet.

  2. Only another couple of months and grass mowing will be over for another year.

  5. I despise weekend mowing and that is when everyone wants to do it. My theory was always to mow on Thursday. That way you weekend is free for fun things.
