All Packed

Ten o clock in the morning and the suitcases have been packed, unpacked and repacked.  The taxi isn’t due until half one.  I am always ready far too early.

Thinking about what I’ve forgotten to pack.  Are four pairs of shorts enough?  Paul sighs and reminds me that there are shops in Australia.  Did I pack the bread sauce?  Yes, my daughter has requested packets of Colmans Bread Sauce mix.

Fidgeting, watching daytime television.  There’s a consumer programme presented by Julia Somerville, Angela Rippon and Gloria Hunniford.  Paul wonders what their combined age is.  I’m wondering how much hair spray they’ve used on their bouffant hair do’s.

Can’t settle.  I’m just going to go and clean the bathroom. Yup,  I’m nervous about the flight.

I will keep a lookout here for lovely warm stories from Australia.
    Buon Viaggio, Sue!

  2. Remember. Half the amount of clothes you think you'll need, and twice the amount of money. It never fails. Am I too late?

    1. About 18 degrees and very windy in Sydney this morning. Quite refreshing after a hot and humid Hong Kong.

  6. Well you are well on your way now. I am travelling light to Vladivostok and currently planning what puzzle books to buy and what paperback for the journey so I browsed around WH Smith at the station tonight and made my decision but didn't buy.

  7. Bread Sauce Mix? That's one thing that I've never used or for that matter made from scratch. My friend has to take Rolos to NZ for her young.
I'm sure that you are well on your way and will have a great visit and enjoy the dog sitting.

    1. The customs man was completely unfazed by the bread sauce. Guess he's seen it all before.
