We shut the house up yesterday morning and drove north to Caen to catch the overnight ferry to Portsmouth. This is just a collection of snapshots from the journey...
Paul doing his yoga exercises. Actually he was turning the water supply off. The bags are full of polystyrene which are placed in the cavity to prevent the pipes from freezing over winter.
Busy French motorways...
Sweeties for the journey
A quick stop for a cheeseburger, fries and coffee. You can't beat McDonald's for speed and consistency.
Sailing into Portsmouth Harbour at dawn.
The Spinnaker Tower
Photo of HMS Victory taken through the misty cabin porthole - reminds me of a painting by Turner.
But for the fact that we know you are off on further adventures, it reads so sadly that you are back in the UK.
ReplyDeleteI can't remember the ????? Dog position that Paul is demonstrating before those bags go on the last trip to the black sac collection point.
Perhaps I should run through a few position with the priest for you Potty.
DeleteAdho Mukha Svanasana (Downward Facing Dog Pose) Not quite, but almost.
DeletePaul says he is mystified by these comments. He's gone off to read Rachel's post now.
DeleteWell I suppose he knows me fairly well from Le Tour by now.
DeleteThanks to your post Rachel I am much more enlightened now.
DeleteYou're sharpening the blade right now no doubt.
DeleteI'm definitely keeping my pants on tonight.
DeleteThe Turneresque photo is fantastic.
ReplyDeleteA happy accident.
DeleteNone of my photos are ever an accident!
DeleteYou were going to delete it.
DeleteI bet that was a tiring journey - I agree with Rachel that Turner photograph is fantastic. Welcome back to Blighty..
ReplyDeleteThank you. So tired tonight, I think I've got jet lag (or should that be ferry lag?).
DeleteWhere did you find those Wine Gums? I'm jealous. Have a good trip to Oz. Kellogg and Wills have decided to go to Byron Bay to have the new baby (as with Boo Boo), and I quite expect Lady M will pop over too. I'll stay here and look after things for you all.
ReplyDeleteThey were in the glove compartment. If you could just get the grass cut before we come back, thank you.
ReplyDeleteI'll pop over to help you with the cooking Cro.
ReplyDeleteI like your photoes Sue and all the comments here make me always laugh!
ReplyDeleteI hope you are travelling well.
Rachel and Cro, I will pop over to eat.
Greetings Maria xx
Thank you Maria. Cases are all packed for our flights tomorrow. Sounds like everyone is going over to Cro's for dinner.
DeleteWe all hope that it's Curry Night!
ReplyDeleteLooks like I'm going to miss all the fun.
