Puzzled

There’s not a lot you can do with your arm in a sling or when every little movement causes pain.  Fortunately Kat has always enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles so she ordered a couple online.  Clearly she enjoys a challenge because the first one to arrive is a very dark scene of Venice.  It’s all about subtle shades and large areas of solid colour.

The second puzzle looks a bit more interesting.  I might even help her with this one.

Rick is puzzled too.  He doesn’t understand why he can’t climb on Kat’s lap for cuddles.  He consoles himself by lying on the floor at her feet.

  1. At least they're both Ravensburger, half the battle. Nothing worse than a difficult puzzle with bits that you don't know if you're right or wrong with. A Ravensburger, you always know you're right, or you're wrong, instantly. Rick looks content with Kat's feet.

    1. Kat has more patience than me when it comes to doing puzzles. She listens to audio books while she does them.

  3. I am not a fan of jig saws but I used to do them when my dear farmer was still alive because he liked doing them (and it kept him awake when he came in from milking in the evening!) but those two look interesting. I used to like the ones that were lots of small pictures because I could choose one and concentrate on that while he
did the rest - as for the Venice one - my favourite place in the world so anything to do with Venice is aloways top of my list.

  4. At least Rick is keeping Kat's feet warm. I love puzzles but have quite depleted my stock over the last few months. I would much prefer the second one.

    1. Rick absolutely adores Kat. He's pretty much ignoring me at the moment.

  5. Being in constant pain is very hard. Rick is concerned so he's staying close. Very sweet boy. How about an extra treat for Rick...

    1. Yes, I think he knows something is wrong. He gets too many treats!

  6. I have had a puzzle on the go since lockdown...done about 7/8 now.( mainly borrowed, but 2 new ones at great expense!!..normally get charity shop ones). Kat's 2nd one I would love, but the first one I wouldn't even attempt!

  7. I have done loads of jigsaws since lock-down especially on days when the weather isn't good. Some come from charity shops and some from neighbours doing swaps. I love the ones like the second one with lots of detail and find those really addictive. I have done a few difficult ones with lots of sea and/or sky and they are much harder and also less interesting. I can't give up on a puzzle though. Rick is very sweet keeping Kat company.

    1. I haven't done a jigsaw for years. When the children were young I always did one at Christmas time.

  8. Haven't done a puzzle for years either. Will be interested to see the second one particularly, when it's finished, so please take a photo.
If Kat drop a piece on the floor, does Rick pick it up for her, or run off with it!

    1. I shall definitely take photos of the finished puzzles. Rick is a good boy but not very good at picking up jigsaw pieces!
