Making Progress

River Ancholme with lots of green algae
A beautiful cycling day so we abandoned Kat to the care of Rick and set off for a 40 km ride around the Lincolnshire lanes.  We didn’t intend to ride that far but conditions were so pleasant we got a bit carried away.

We stopped in North Kelsey to admire some wood carvings at a driveway entrance.  Amazing what you can do with a chain saw.

owl carving, there was a squirrel on the opposite side of the driveway

Kat is making good progress, the first puzzle is almost complete!  She is more mobile now and managed a walk around the village this afternoon.  She has a hospital appointment in Lincoln on Wednesday so hopefully all will be well.

    2. You make it sound like a short ride before breakfast!

    3. A short ride before coffee. Breakfast at 7.00, take Rick for a walk, out for a ride and home just after 10.00. Then I collapse in a heap for the rest of the day!

  2. Kat is very patient. She must have inherited that trait from her father. In history, The River Ancholme was of large significance. Have you seen the 3000 year old flat-bottomed boat discovered near Brigg?

    1. I know about the boat but I haven't seen it. I think Kat has inherited many traits from her father, otherwise she would be perfect.

  4. Wonderful stamina on completing your ride. I would be scared I went too far and couldn't manage the return ride!

    1. I would send Paul home to get the car if I ran out of steam!

  5. Your 40 km ride is impressive. Nice countryside must make the ride even better. Kat venturing out shows she's feeling much better. The puzzle looks good. Hopefully the doc will find Kat fully recovered.

  6. 40 Kms; that's to Fumel and back. Too far in this heat.

    1. It's a tad cooler in Lincolnshire! We often cycled to Fumel by the back roads, along the river and then home via Puy l'Eveque but I don't think I could manage those hills anymore.
