it doesn't rain every day |
We are waiting for the man to
come and repair our leaking roof. But it’s
raining again today so he probably won’t come. It’s only a small leak, probably
a crack in the flashing between the pigeonnier and the house but it’s too high
for Paul to safely reach with his ladder.
It’s been a depressingly wet
start to the summer but the walks through the chestnut woods are still a pleasure, we just have to negotiate the big, muddy puddles.

It's hasn't all been doom and gloom, we have had some very pleasant, sunny days. Early morning walks are a delight, a few days ago we met our Belgian neighbours out in their horse drawn cart. The photo isn't too clear because Rick was beside himself with excitement and it was difficult to keep the camera steady.
Your home is beyond charming! Every time you write about "the chestnut woods" it sounds so magical, like the hundred acre wood in a way. I wouldn't mind a bit of your rain. Things are quite dry here. -Jenn
ReplyDeleteI didn't see any little bears today but I did see a cute little deer.
Deletemuddy or not, it's gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteIt's very special here.
DeleteI love your home! Where does the stairway lead to? Hope the leak gets fixed soon. Rick is a sport :)
ReplyDeleteGreetings Maria x
The stairs lead up to the kitchen and living area. We are still waiting for the roof man.
DeleteIt looks so very rural - much more so than here in the UK somehow - not sure why.
ReplyDeleteThis area reminds me of what rural England was like fifty years ago.
DeleteSummer arrives on TUESDAY. Hooray!
ReplyDeleteAre you sure about that?
DeleteWeatherwise, May and June have been perfect here in England. I am so sorry to hear that you exiles are getting peed upon.
ReplyDeleteYaboosucks.
