finally caved in under a mountain of strawberries and made jam |
balanced precariously on a ladder to prune the roses on the barn wall |
played ball with Rick |
trimmed the yew tree on the rockery, I'm sure it's lop sided |
took a photo of bumble bees collecting pollen from the red poppies but they were too fast for me |
It all sounds good. Rick is looking quite handsome.
ReplyDeleteHe loves his tennis ball.
DeleteNo it isn't; perhaps the house is lop sided.
ReplyDeleteGreetings Maria x
Ah, that could be the reason!
DeleteReminds me of when I did all those flower drawings last year and the nail varnish poppies. A year ago. How times flies.
ReplyDeleteRed poppies always photograph well.
DeleteRachel, I remember the beautiful drawings of the bright red varnish poppies. Brilliant - in idea and in colour!

Yes, I remember those too, they were stunning.
DeleteThank you. I was in a very different time then! xx
DeleteThat yew tree looks pretty big. Was it there when you bought the chateau?
ReplyDeleteNo, it was a self-sown seedling that I nurtured. The rockery was a pile of rubble from the old pig sty covered in bramble.
DeleteYour poppies and roses are beautiful! You'll be happy for that jam in January! Strawberry jam is also nice on vanilla icecream. Just a thought. -Jenn
ReplyDeleteI was quite pleased because it actually set for once!
DeleteI made Strawberry jam yesterday too. Suddenly we're over-run with them, and it won't be long before the Tayberries start.
ReplyDeletePicked our first courgettes yesterday.
DeleteSo did I; they were about 2 ins long.
DeleteIn other words, a perfect day of potterering !
ReplyDeletePottering? It was hard work!
DeleteLoads of strawberries and roses? That sounds like heaven to me.
ReplyDeleteI think there might still be a bee in that second poppy from the left but on the other had it could be the centre of the poppy - but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt.
