Posh Wellies



Today we met a posh lady while we were out walking with Rick.  She was wearing pink Hunters (posh wellington boots).  Paul said they were red.  They were definitely pink.  Rick stopped to sniff her dog, a pretty little Spaniel.  “Come along Hunter,” she said, dragging her designer dog away from our scruffy little half-breed.  Seriously, she had named her dog after her wellies!   “Come ‘ere Rick!”  Paul shouted.  In hindsight I suppose “Viens ici Reeeque” would have sounded far more classy.

    If you have fat legs, and I do, then Hunters never fit. I was given a pair years ago and they were never worn until I cut them down (to size at the ankles).

      I need some new boots but I doubt they will be Hunters. I think that's funny you cut yours down.

    Hunter boots, which were originally used by the horsey set to wear for mucking out their stalls, are now a sign of elitism in Canada, especially on university campuses. They cost $180.00 (Canadian). For rubber boots, which are now produced in China. -Jenn

      Same thing here, about £70 for a pair of wellies with the Hunter logo on.

      That's not as bad as the Kennel Club name of one of ours - "All Things Bright and Beautiful of Tintagel Winds Labradors" - our much missed Petite-Chose. She was French too !

      Navy quilted jacket. (Only Katie Price would wear pink boots with pink Barbour.)
