Good day, sunshine

Hip hip hooray, the rain has gone away.

I’ve been very lazy today, just pottering around the garden and enjoying the sunshine (after the fog cleared).  Paul was planting some basil and took a tumble in the herb garden.  He was miffed when I was more concerned about taking a photograph than helping him to his feet.  Karma got its own back because I fell off the raised path into the vegetable patch a few minutes later.  Paul was then more concerned about his beans.  We only had one glass of wine at lunch time.

We have been perusing the map this afternoon and are planning a big ride out tomorrow, some fifty kilometres.  Heading down the valley until we meet the River Lot and then cycling alongside the river (providing the path isn’t under water) and back up another valley home.  This ride feels quite ambitious after a week of non activity and I feel quite nervous about it.  If I don’t blog tomorrow it’s because we are still trying to find our way back.

So, as I failed miserably to get a photo of my husband spread-eagled amongst the herbs I will have to be content with posting a few more garden pics. Myrtle, the blueberry bush, is doing wonderfully well.

  1. I have some of that Ice Plant; it does take over doesn't it, but in a very nice way.

  2. Got the grass cut yesterday - or finished the last 90% after rain stopped play last week. I shall have a bask in the sun, with The Dog, and then start getting the green off the outside steps with the Karcher. Or maybe not. Best wishes for your l o n g bike ride.

  3. Your garden looks amazing!!
I can imagine it takes hard work - but what a joy it must be to wander among the rockery plants and blueberry bush.
    Happy cycling!
