It’s the
little things in life that please me...
“William’s
back, quick look, William’s back!” Was
it the return of the prodigal son? No,
just my over reaction to the return of William the Woodpecker to the nut
feeder. Most years he monopolises the feeder,
scattering the sparrows as he swoops in.
But this year we have been back almost a month and there was no sign of
him until this morning. Actually, it
might be Wilhelmina, I must check the colour of his head.
Hearing the
cicadas buzzing away as we cycled up the valley, surely a sign of warmer
weather.
Hanging my
washing outside in the fresh air – such a simple pleasure after a winter stuck
in the confines of a flat in England.
Finally, a
long, cold martini in the sunshine before dinner. Bliss!
I can not remember when i saw last time washings hanging out side, once it was every where, even in our rural area we dont see it any more.I also am happy with the little things in life.
ReplyDeleteI love to see washing billowing in the breeze. My daughters never hang their washing outside.
DeleteAs soon as you build me that daughter annex I'll hang my washing out every day! :)
DeleteI bet you wouldn't! xxx
DeleteOurs hangs in the garage for a day or so until The Summer when 10 mins outside dries it all. Can't afford a dryer.
ReplyDeleteWhereabouts in France do you live Potty?
DeleteDordogneshire, south of Gardonne.
DeleteI have been hearing a Hoopoe recently. He/she always turns up at this time of year, but we rarely see him/her.
ReplyDeleteSeen a pair twice this year when they came waddling into our courtyard and did a thorough ground inspection.
