The wind is gusting this afternoon and causing some damage in the garden. The lupins and foxgloves were completely snapped off. I don't often pick flowers from the garden but I gathered a few roses and a hydrangea head to keep them company in the vase.
Our apple and plum trees are laden with unripe fruit at the moment, I fear that this wind will break a few branches. Well that's nature and the weather isn't it?
I bring in flowers when they get snapped too. Your vase of flowers is quite beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThey are a bit unbalanced but I did my best.
DeleteJust the same here too. I have so many herbaceous plants just about to come out and it has laid them flat - a combination of hail and strong winds. I hate to see them staked and tied up - I prefer a natural look but dare not go out and see what they are like after today.
ReplyDeleteIt's sad to see the big blooms getting battered by the wind.
DeleteOh well, not a lot to worry about.
ReplyDeleteNo, nothing to worry about.
DeleteThat hydrangea is gorgeous! I had one delphinium knocked down by rain, but the rest are o.k. Peonies are of course, "bedraggled" by rain, but still pretty. I'm terrible at arranging flowers in a vase! -Jenn
ReplyDeleteMe too, I just plonk them in a vase and hope for the best.
DeleteQuite a bit of wind in Sheffield too. We had a curry last night. THWAAARP!
ReplyDeleteWe had scampi and chips. With ketchup.
DeleteThe flowers look lovely, and I love the colour co-ordination.
ReplyDeleteI don't have many flowers in the garden, mostly shrubs where the blooms look better left in situ.
I've had to add a few more refugees from the garden today, this wind is relentless.
