It's a Dog's Life

It’s raining this morning but what a glorious few days of sunshine we have had.

Yesterday I took Rick out early and stopped by the church to try and capture the Union Jack flying on the church tower.  Rick also seemed to be excited and entranced by the morning sun on the tower until I realised he was saying “Look mum, squirrels!”  Two grey squirrels were chasing each other in the high branches.

He has loved being out in the garden, watching his Papa build new compost pens out of some wooden pallets that our neighbour was throwing out.  Apart from his yellow tennis balls (he has several) Rick loves to toss Mister Bunny around.  This is a risky game, he sent my two Buddha statues crashing to the floor a few weeks ago.  But yesterday he managed to fling Mister Bunny right into the middle of our prickly evergreen hedge.  Not a good move but he stood patiently until I retrieved it for him.

Today he is sulking because it’s too wet to play outdoors.  Paul is doing likewise.

  1. All dogs seem to get off on squirrels. It makes me wonder why dog food companies don't produce squirrel favoured dog food. It would sell like hot cakes - as well as reducing grey squirrel numbers.

    1. It is when the sun shines. Right now the wind is blowing and it's covered in twigs and leaves.

    1. Rained here quite steadily earlier, enough to fill the water butts. Very windy and blustery right now.

Rain first thing here too, but although it's sunny now, there's a gale blowing.

    1. Thank you. Boris is announcing something on the British lockdown this evening but I don't think much will change in the short term for Paul and me.

    2. The photo looks different now. I can see it on my phone that he is turning his head. Strange that on the small device it is clearer than on the lap top.

    3. Ah, if I half close my eyes I can see what you mean now. It's not the sharpest of photos because I was holding his lead at the time.
