Another glorious day of sunshine and blue skies so we have been working in the garden. Rick loves being outside but just can't stop himself from chasing the butterflies and bees. He rarely catches them but unfortunately, yesterday, he managed to swallow a bee and got stung. Immediately he began frantically eating grass and after a while he was sick. I watched him very carefully for any signs of allergic reaction but, apart from feeling a bit sorry for himself, he seemed fine.
I hope he has learnt his lesson but somehow I doubt it.

Poor Rick! That may explain our Mamie's absolute terror of anything that buzzes, even house flies.
ReplyDeleteI think he had a nasty shock but I'm not sure he's learnt his lesson.
DeleteI get scared when the cats start trying to catch bees. They seem to have a fascination with them.
ReplyDeleteIt's very hard to stop them, daft animals.
DeleteHe looks such a delightful dog.
ReplyDeleteLove the Periwinkle - there is just one bloom out on mine too.
When he's good, he's very, very good but when he's bad...well, he can be very naughty. Just ask the postman.
DeleteThat poor bee! What a horrible way to die. My condolences to his family. They must bee heartbroken.
ReplyDeleteBeehive yourself.
DeleteI am so sorry that your Rick managed to catch, get stung by, and eat a bee. I doubt if he will do that again, poor guy. My Fuzzy almost caught one, but I yelled at him and it distracted him so he missed it.
ReplyDeleteI'm always shouting at him to stop but he doesn't listen to me.
DeletePoor guy - hope he doesn't make that mistake again. -Jenn
ReplyDeleteI don't think he will be able to resist.
DeletePoor boy but I'm sure he will try to catch more!!
ReplyDeleteHe will!
DeleteI think we have identical trunks. Ours is made by Crouch and Fitzgerald of New York (C & F). Most dogs see bees simply as moving targets, it's difficult to get them to see otherwise; unless they get stung.
ReplyDeleteIsn't that what twin elephants would say?
