chocolate brownies would have been nicer |
I took Rick out for his walk around the estate at 7.00 this morning. He is usually quite friendly with other dogs but occasionally he kicks off so I try to avoid other dog walkers. I’m anti social anyway! It was surreal. Every time I took an avoiding manoeuvre I came face to face with another dog walker. I think every dog owner on the estate decided to take their walk at 7.00 this morning.
I’m having a quiet day, Paul is out and I’m at a loose end. This is dangerous for me. I was going to make chocolate brownies but I don’t have enough butter in the fridge and after walking Rick for an hour I don’t have the inclination to walk to the shops. I found some old mascara dye in the bathroom cabinet so I’ve smothered it on my eyebrows. According to the instructions I have to leave it on for half an hour. No, I’m not going to take a photo but suffice to say that Rick has gone to hide under the bed.
Now, what shall I do next?
Have you put a couple of plasters on Rick to hide where you dyed his 'George Woodcocks'? You know that he is worth it.
ReplyDeleteI thought he would like his brows dyed too.
DeleteOf course chocolate brownies would have been better ! Rick is prefect as he is !

ReplyDeleteWhat shall you do next? Look in Paul's sock drawer and see if there's any darning to be done.
ReplyDeleteI'd rather do something more devilish
DeleteStart packing ?
ReplyDeleteGood idea, but it's a bit too soon.
DeleteOh dear. Can't you take up knitting or something?
ReplyDeleteAlas, my knitting skills are not good.
DeleteTry to decide on one area of the country you might like to live in and plan a recce of that area.
ReplyDeleteJust a temporary lull. I'm a bit 'housed' out at the moment. I think Lincolnshire and Norfolk might be too flat for me. I'm hankering for the hills and valleys of Wales.
DeleteThe best way to meet people in Blighty is by either having a dog or a baby. Not long after we left college we had both, and trying to go for a walk was almost impossible. It was either 'what a lovely dog', or 'koochie koochie'. It made me realise that people are very eager to chat, but they need an excuse!
ReplyDeleteThat is very true. I did speak to a Dachshund this morning.
DeleteRick is a good sport.
ReplyDeleteGreetings Maria x
He was thinking "What is this silly woman going to do to me next?"
DeleteSeems strange for someone who writes a blog and also comments on other people's blogs to say that she is anti-social.
