Today was Paul’s birthday so we spoiled the boy and took him out for a special lunch. We took the ferry across to Circular Quay and headed to the old Customs House. Through the sparkling glass foyer and a lift ride up to the roof top Cafe Sydney.
there is a complete model of the city under the glass floor in the foyer |
We had cocktails in the bar before being shown to a table outside on the terrace with magnificent harbour views.

The restaurant was huge and buzzing with glamorous and glossy people. The food and company were great and we had a very jolly time. I had feta and asparagus tart followed by barramundi (sea bass); there was a separate menu for the vegan half of our party.

.Sounds nice but I hate it when you pay big money and end up hungry. Happy Birthday Paul. It looked like a nice day out anyway.
ReplyDeleteThe food was delicious but a little light on portion size.
DeleteHappy Birthday, Paul - looking at the view from the restaurant, I'm sure it's a day you will remember for a long time.
ReplyDeleteIt was a fabulous experience, we had a lovely day.
DeleteWhat a fabulous view (other than the cruise ship). I agree with Helsie, feeling hungry after an expensive meal is not good. A bowl of chips with red sauce would be perfect.
ReplyDeleteThere's usually at least one cruise ship in the harbour, a different one each day.
DeleteA Sagittarian. Wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI don't think he's typical of his sign, apart from the travelling bit.
