Daughters

It’s been a while since I last wrote a blog.  No excuses really but March was a particularly eventful month.

Sarah’s three year relationship came to an end and she made the incredibly tough decision to leave Australia and come home to the UK.  She had lived in Australia for 13 years.  I still can’t quite believe she is back.  She is temporarily living with us until she buys her own home in Lincolnshire.

Kat is clearly delighted to have her sister back but she also had her own ‘event’ by eloping to Denmark with her boyfriend – they got married in a forest and honeymooned in a tree house.

Like I said – an eventful month!

  1. An eventful month indeed. Where in Lincolnshire is she hoping to live? It is my home county.

    1. Her new office will be just north of Lincoln (Nettleham) so within commuting distance of there.

  2. WOW. You weren't kidding, were you! Nice to have both daughters within reach once more though. Wouldn't mind spending some time in a tree-house myself.

    1. Apparently it was a bit scary climbing down to the bathroom in the dark!

  3. Wow, that's a lot of stuff to internalize! Sorry for Sarah's breakup but I'm sure you are thrilled she is home again.

  4. Goodness. Everything upside-down. No doubt all will soon settle to a new 'norm', and the girls will love having each other close again; and their parents of course.

    1. Never thought it would happen but kids love to keep surprising us don't they?

  5. I really wondered where you are. Indeed our children never cease to amaze us. From personal experience.

  6. What a wonderful adventure in Australia to have been there and lived it. I never went and I wish I had. Now it's all change for your girls and you, it must have been meant to be to come home from France. xx

    1. It was a wonderful adventure for her but at the moment she doesn't quite see it that way. Yeah, we definitely came back from France at the right time.

    1. So much to say but I'm finding it a bit hard to write about everything.

  8. Wow, that was an eventful month! I did wonder where you were. Hard for Sarah right now but good for you to have her back. Good to have Kat nearby too. Definitely the right time for you to be back in England again. Hopefully you will all get to see each other more often. I can see how it's a bit over whelming to write about right now but it's good to see you back.

  9. Congratulations to Kat on her marriage but I am sorry that you and Paul could not be there to witness such a special event. And... welcome back to Blighty Sarah! Not all those who are transported to Australia get to come home. I hope Sarah is soon able to forge a new life with a new home, a new job and who knows - somewhere along the line a new lover. After all, English blokes are very sexy.

    1. Second time round for Kat so we were happy for her to have a romantic elopement on this occasion. Sarah is rather daunted at the prospect of building a whole new life in England at the moment.

    2. Baby steps. Sounds like she needs some healing time. For her sake, I am glad we are going into summer and not winter.

  10. That's a lot of change all at once. Having the entire family in England is wonderful. I suspect everyone will settle and find greater happiness and a fresh beginning.

  11. I know Nettleham well - I was born in Lincoln and went to school there. Lived about ten miles from Nettleham in a village called Washingborough.

  12. How strange - I've checked regularly to see if you'd posted anything new, and now i find I've missed the latest ones.
I'm so sorry to hear about Sarah's engagement. It will take her time to adjust, but now she's home and close to the family, and that's the important thing.
Congratulations to Kat on her marriage - the tree house sounds idyllic.
