Paul's control centre |
I just couldn't help myself tidying all this away this morning, much to Paul's chagrin. Who really needs three pairs of glasses, three remote controls, two 'phones and a laptop mouse, a wristwatch and pen constantly at their fingertips?
I guess some of my readers will be on Paul's side here but I just can't abide clutter.
Poor Paul.
ReplyDeleteNah, he's got a pretty good deal with me.
DeleteI respectfully submit that the "clutter" is quite neatly arranged, which in my book makes it, by definition, not clutter. Or perhaps that was your doing?
ReplyDeleteNo, it was all his own work.
DeleteThere's a help group for men who are treated so cruelly by their obsessively tidy wives. Tell Paul to phone 01673 878294.
ReplyDeleteHe tried ringing that number but they're shut.
DeleteAmongst my usual 'at arm's reach' clutter I have a mobile phone which hasn't worked since about 1985. I still like to keep it handy.
ReplyDeleteYou could always have a pretend conversation.
DeleteI can't stand any form of clutter Sue and now that David is gone I have only myself to blame for anything left around. But I would love his clutter back (with him of course) - it would be a price I would be willing to pay a thousand times over.
ReplyDeleteOh Pat, what can I say? I'm going to get all his clutter out again!
DeleteIf I can't see it, I can't find it & go out & buy a new one!! Visual people like me NEED it all close all the time - get that man a basket to put it all into. It can sit on the table beside his chair. You are a mean wife.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a mean wife. Well, just a little bit mean. I've put all his gizmos into a basket by his chair.
DeleteThis is why they need handbags.
ReplyDeleteI almost persuaded Paul to buy a man bag once .... almost.
DeleteI have a very pretty glass dish on the bottom of our coffee table (must.take.photo) that keeps all the remotes (I think we have 4-5 total), as well as glass cleaners and a couple of emery boards.
ReplyDeleteCan I ask why so many glasses, though? I wear bifocals. I have separate glasses at my pc though; also bifocals, but bottom for reading, top for pc distance, which is different from the normal bifocals I wear otherwise. :)
One pair are his bi-focals that he doesn't get on with, the other two are just reading glasses.
DeleteThree remotes on my coffee table (one to switch on the TV, one to change the channel and one for the DVD player) but 50 million magazines I can't bear to part with! Usually the laptop is sitting there too.
ReplyDeleteI'm not even sure what the remotes are for.
DeleteI am on Paul's side.....I need 3 remotes to get the TV going....one for the set itself, one for the sound system, and one for virgin media box. I need 2 pairs of specs, ( TV and reading) and in the evenings my phone will also be beside me charging! Several pens will be there, but my watch is on my wrist, and I don't need a " mouse".
ReplyDeleteI think I'm out numbered here.
DeleteWe've simplified by buying a one-for-all remote (https://www.oneforall.co.uk/) - ours can (if I recall) control up to 8 devices after setting up. Now we only have one remote to lose!
ReplyDeleteWow, that sounds like a good idea.
DeleteI got here much interesting stuff. The post is great! Thanks for sharing it! Dyson Repairs Keynsham
