Waiting

We’ve cleared the attic and this morning I went through the kitchen cupboards and threw out some very old herbs and spices and a half opened packet of Cream Crackers left over from Christmas. We can’t really continue with the packing until we book the removal company and collect some boxes.  But we can’t book the removal company until we have a firm date for exchange of contracts.  Any day now according to our solicitor.

In the meantime we are still in negotiation for the property in Lincolnshire, we are waiting for a response to our latest offer.  Waiting, waiting, waiting.

  1. Fingers crossed! (I can only imagine how old some of my spices are), -Jenn

  2. We have just moved and seriously under estimated how long it takes to pack. We had months of waiting and waiting and then only a week between exchange and completion sending us into a panic! Longest time taken was wrapping china and glass - it takes an age to do. Next longest sorting out accumulated stuff in the garage with many trips to the dump. Hope all goes well for your move.

    1. I expect we will pack in a mad panic. We've sorted the garage and the attic and I don't have too much china and glass here so I think I can do it in two days!!!

  4. Hope you get a positive answer on Lincolnshire very soon! I’ve learned to check my pantry and spice cabinet every 6 months. Things expire much quicker than we anticipate because time does fly!!

  7. Hope that all goes to plan, your offer is accepted and the move is trouble free.
The last time we moved was almost nineteen years ago, when we came here to Spain. We used a removal company and made it clear that some items would go straight to our new home, and the rest go into store, whilst the house was extended. In spite of labelling everything clearly, we still ended up with things in the wrong place, and found that three bags of rubbish had made the way here too !

  8. Everything here will go into storage including the contents of Kat's flat that are stacked in the garage. It will be a day to celebrate when they unload the removal van!

  9. Quite a storm here yesterday evening. Very strong winds, plenty of rain, and some thunder. I really hate strong wind.
