This is the view from Sarah’s balcony in Sydney showing the city centre and CBD
(Central Business District) where she works.
Her commute from home takes her about fifteen minutes on the train. She took the photograph with her phone and
then did some artful editing; I think it’s quite a stunning shot.
A few years ago I had a meal in the revolving restaurant that you can see perched
at the top of the tower; the views were spectacular.
Sarah (my eldest daughter) lives in Newtown, a lively, bohemian district with lots of bars, music and eateries. A very different environment to rural Wiltshire where she was born and bred.
early morning commute |
Yes, rather different to Chippenham station... not least the blue skies. But then Wiltshire - and Wales where I live now - both have their delights too.
ReplyDeleteI don't miss Wiltshire too much, it has become too busy and crowded for me. Almost impossible to find quiet roads for cycling.
DeleteI heard about terrible floods in the area at the moment. Hope not where your daughter is
ReplyDeleteLuckily Sarah was safe as the city centre was not affected. Low ground and areas next to rivers in the suburbs were badly hit.
DeleteFabulous photograph, like it a lot. Yes, stunning. New buildings with old and a tree, the tree is very important.
ReplyDeleteIt's a great composition. I wish I had the talent to paint it.
DeleteThat shot truly is stunning!
ReplyDeleteIt's quite something isn't it.
DeleteWhat a breathtaking photograph! I love it.
ReplyDeleteIt almost looks unreal.
DeleteAbsolutely stunning photograph.
ReplyDeleteThat is a great photograph. Sarah lives in a vibrant city. She found her niche and you have a wonderful place to visit...when we get to the other side of Covid. The revolving restaurant with panoramic views must have been a great experience.
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw the photograph I thought you were going to write about the deluge and floods. Great photo.
ReplyDeleteWhat superb photo - the sky is quite incredible, and worth painting. Interesting how a photo can be manipulated into something so spectacular.
ReplyDeleteWow! I expected to see a couple of angels appearing in that sky !
ReplyDeleteHoly cow! What a photo!!

ReplyDeleteYes. A stunning picture. I think I can see that God fellow up there peeping out from behind the golden clouds.
ReplyDeleteAs for bohemians, they should send them all back to bloody Bohemia!
Sarah is a clever girl like her mum!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pic of Sydney a wonderful city, but having visited it, I preferred Melbourne.. How lovely to have your daughter there to visit.
