The fabric for Kat's new bedroom curtains has arrived. Now all I have to do is make the bloomin’
things. They will be full length and I just have to decide whether they should float, kiss or puddle. Could take me a while.Watch this space.
Yes, kiss. I always think that puddle looks as though they are waiting to be finished. The fabric looks like brocade, so probably not suitable to float.
I also think Kiss, as puddle looks untidy to me! However, kiss is harder to achieve and I seem to remember that a heavy fabric can drop over time.Good luck. I once made curtains that were full length and 3 widths in each..lined too. Never again...all that crawling round on the floor would finish me off!
That looks like lovely, heavy fabric! Will they be lined? I always much preferred doing sewing with small, manageable pieces of fabric. I always despised the crawling around on the floor for big projects. Good for you! -Jenn
Yes, I always find it easier to make lined curtains. I've managed to cut the fabric this morning, tomorrow I will start joining the pieces. They are double width so lots of joins to make.
Kiss xx
ReplyDeleteI think that is what I shall aim for! x
DeleteSounds complicated! Good luck!
ReplyDeleteNot really complicated, just lots of measuring, cutting and sewing.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful fabric, good luck with the matching, looking forward to see them hanging at your window.
I will get a certain amount of satisfaction if they hang nicely.
DeleteGood luck with them! I am curious to see what you do.
ReplyDeleteI shall do another post when they are all finished and hanging.
DeleteShould be lovely for Kat next time she visits.
ReplyDeleteIt could be quite a while before she is here again so I've got plenty of time.
DeleteYjey look too daunting for me. Good luck.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to take it very slowly.
DeleteThe fabric is really lovely. Kat is one lucky girl and her newly decorated bedroom will be ready for her next visit.
ReplyDeleteI hope she likes it. I'm going for the French chateau look!
DeleteOur curtains were all made from unbleached white Indian bedspreads. It's probably time they were changed, although I still like them.
ReplyDeleteI like that sound of them, timeless.
DeleteKiss, I always think you trip on those that puddle.
ReplyDeleteThat is very true, they look quite glamorous but are a trip hazard.
DeleteYes, kiss. I always think that puddle looks as though they are waiting to be finished. The fabric looks like brocade, so probably not suitable to float.
ReplyDeleteYes I think I shall probably go for the kiss.

ReplyDeleteI used my kitchen island to do the cutting today, it was so much easier than crawling on the floor (which is what I used to do in the past!).
DeleteI am always fascinated by your new projects and the good taste in home design. The fabrics are so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThank you Yael, that's kind of you to say that.
