Congratulations

Congratulations, daughter of mine, on officially becoming an Australian citizen today.  It’s been a tough journey for you but I’m very proud of what you have accomplished since you left the UK with your big, bright dream.  I wish you lived just around the corner instead of the other side of the world.  But my love for you knows no distance.

Be happy and enjoy your wonderful life.

  2. My partner's daughter did the same thing three years ago, met a new girlfriend, got engaged to her and became a NZ citizen and is living a wonderful life. NZ looks a great place for young people, so well done your daughter.

    1. Sarah loves her life in Oz, she moved out there in 2008 when she was 23.

  7. My daughter is a pukka Aussie, and my youngest son has some sort of full time residency permit (not sure what exactly). I also have four grandsons who were born there. It's a great place to live; well done Sarah.

  9. Did you see Miriam Margolyes last night on TV? Called something about the Australian dream. She was given her citizenship and travelled about meeting some very interesting people. Worth a watch. Congrats to Sarah .

  12. Congratulations Sarah - enjoy your life! You've definitely done the right thing!
I watched Miriam Margolyes TV programme last night. Surprised that she too, has become an Australian citizen - mainly because her partner is. It will be an interesting programme, as she's going to find out how many people feel they are living the Australian dream. It's a warts and all programme and last night's was a real eye-opener at times.

    1. I shall look forward to watching this. It becomes very hard to move out there once you pass a certain age, unless you have lots of money of course.
