Rick picked an excellent kitchen team. They appear to have worked swiftly and efficiently. I guess that Rick would have bitten them if they had been slacking.
That is fast! My daughter and family have been out of their home since mid-June (staying with me) and are just now getting the drywall finished. Their whole lower floor was gutted.
This is so exciting. It's going to look lovely. I'm keen to see your benchtops, I am planning new ones but am undecided what to choose as yet. Love the timber that we often see in English kitchens ( on Escape to the country) but think water would be a long term problem with them. Do you have Ceasar stone over there? Man made , durable , not as expensive as granite?
The worktops (apart from the oak island) will be white mirror chip quartz. You can oil the wooden benchtops to stop water stains but I thought it would be more practical to have the quartz.
It is going to be a fab kitchen when completed. One thing I do not understand is why the sharp corners on the island, to my way of thinking large round corner would be better and protect the user from accidental knocks ?

ReplyDeleteMarjan - Cowroad
Thank you Marjan.
DeleteIndeed very different and beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI hope it will be when it's finished.
DeleteVery quick progress. Looking good too.
ReplyDeleteI'm amazed at how quick it's been.

ReplyDeleteHe's keeping a very close eye on them (and their biscuits).

ReplyDeleteIt's been a long wait for this particular team of builders but it was well worth it.

DeleteYes, I think your quartz is like our Ceasarstone. Sort of stone chips machined together in some way to make a solid stone.
DeleteWow! That is a speedy transformation! It's looking good.
ReplyDeleteOne day's work!
DeleteCor! It looks very chic. I wish I had two ovens.
ReplyDeleteAnd...we have a warming drawer that will prove dough (as well as heating plates)!
DeleteLooking a bit different now isn't it?
ReplyDeleteOh no, an island.
ReplyDeleteI love an island. I pretend I'm a tv chef. Wait 'til you see my bar stools!

ReplyDeleteIt's not finished. They are rounding off the end today.
DeleteIsn't it a great feeling when you can finally see how it looks, rather than trying to visualise it from a plan or computer generated design?
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely! I've been waiting to see it come 'alive' for so long.
DeleteLooking good!
ReplyDeleteThanks Elaine.
DeleteComing along nicely.
ReplyDeleteVery pleased with it so far. Rick likes it because he can run around the island.
DeleteAre you introducing any colour? Tiles? It is looking great so far. My kitchen is about the size of your island!!
ReplyDeleteBright yellow/orange bar stools and blind. Pewter coloured glass splashback. Not sure about tiles yet.
DeleteI am amazed at how quickly it has taken shape. No works in our house ever went that quickly. It will be great when it's finished.
ReplyDeleteIt might be finished tomorrow if the electrician can get here. If not, Monday. Two weeks in total.
