My Perfect Day
The builders have left. They were a great bunch of guys but it is so nice to have my home back. I can finally relax.
The kitchen is ready apart from a few finishing touches. I am chuffed to pieces with it. The building inspector came today and couldn’t keep his hands off the oak island worktop. “Lovely - needs another coat of oil” he said.
The weather is perfect today. Warm, sunny, light breeze, no bugs. We had lunch outside on the terrace – salad, chilled rose wine, cafe jazz; I could have stayed there all day. Rick had other ideas, he needed his afternoon walk. We sauntered round the village and didn’t meet a single soul. I think they were all having an afternoon siesta. A very sleepy village today.

Everything looks perfect.
ReplyDeleteEverything looks better in the sunshine.
DeleteBeautiful counter top!! Are the lights in the background new, too? I like those. -Jenn
ReplyDeleteYup,new lights. We had some fun hanging them straight and in the right position.
DeleteThe kitchen looks beautiful and so does the garden. Now we have proper summer weather for the bank holiday weekend and that doesn't happen often.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to try and make the most of this glorious weather.
DeleteLove the kitchen, love the idea of salad and rose. At last today here in the Dales it is finally still and warm. Wensleydale Show tomorrow and for once it will be good weather for it. But the roads will be clogged so a good day to stay home.
ReplyDeleteThe last time I went to the Wensleydale Show I was fifteen years old!
DeleteBeautiful! Well worth the wait.
ReplyDeleteMonths of planning!
DeleteAll clean and tidy just the way you like it. Glad you are pleased with it.
ReplyDeleteTidy but I can't find anything.
DeleteVery nice! I like the combination of colour and texture. And such a speedy transformation!
ReplyDeleteInstant transformation as soon as the wall came down.
DeleteNow, try and keep it that way. When we had our new kitchen the tidiness didn't last five minutes!
ReplyDeleteIt won't stay this tidy if Paul gets his way.
DeleteIs Lincolnshire Life booked for the photoshoot? How good it looks and enjoy using your new kitchen, there can't be much more to do now.
ReplyDeleteSome paintwork to finish off and blind for thr window.
DeleteAmazing!
ReplyDeleteYou will have to come and see!
DeleteIt looks great. I like the pale grey cupboards...a colour I might go for when/if I ever get my kitchen renovated. What type of sink did you go for? I get fed up trying to keep my stainless steel one " stainless" !
ReplyDeleteThat's exactly why I opted for a double Belfast sink this time.
DeleteThats what I want ! Not necessarily double but maybe large enough to have a spray tap so I can bath the schnauzer in it so don't have to lean over the bath....hurts my back!
DeleteYou have the perfect home - inside and out, and Rick is the icing on the cake !
ReplyDeleteThank you, and you're right, Rick is the icing on the cake.
DeleteDo you live in Royston Vasey?
ReplyDeleteI hate it when anyone. I'm s working in my house. Can't settle at all.
ReplyDeleteIt's very disconcerting. And so many cups of tea! They were lovely lads though.
