We got an unexpected visitor yesterday. Kat arrived for the weekend, her last visit before she goes off to Cyprus for three months. She brought some stuff for us to look after while she’s away – three pot plants and a stuffed polecat.
Jeremiah |
Kat acquired Jeremiah some time ago, an easy pet to keep because he doesn’t need feeding. The other guys in her RAF accommodation block tend to keep guinea pigs and hamsters; Kat likes to be different. I think he looks rather eye catching in my hallway although Rick is a bit wary and gives him a wide berth.
Meanwhile my other daughter in Sydney is fighting a nasty chest infection, probably exacerbated by the current smoky atmosphere in the city. I think her doctor definitely has the right idea though.
It is a recommended prescription for each of us, everywhere on the globe, she probably has a good doctor.
ReplyDeleteAn excellent remedy I think. (He did prescribe some pharmacy medicines as well!)

ReplyDeleteWhat is the last word on the list? I can't read it. Perhaps Sarah's doctor had been drinking whisky.
ReplyDeleteAs for Jeremiah, perhaps he will inspire you to purchase your own stuffed animals. I think a stuffed badger called Clive would look lovely in your new kitchen - just sitting there on the island. You could use his front teeth as a bottle opener.
That is a brilliant idea, especially using his front teeth as a bottle opener.
DeleteYour heading for today's post must be unique!
ReplyDeleteIt just happened that way.
Delete"Pot plants" must have a slightly different meaning over there. Here it would indicate that your daughter wants to you look after her home grown marijuana. (but who am I to judge). Jeremiah has a definite personality about him. -Jenn
ReplyDeletePlants growing in pots! Not marijuana but aloe vera.
DeleteJeremiah looks good in the hallway!
ReplyDeleteHe's growing on me
DeleteThat's one scary looking polecat! I don't think I could have him around the house.
ReplyDeleteI'm getting used to him.
DeleteThe Polecat doesn't look too friendly.
ReplyDeleteHe's definitely a talking point for visitors
DeleteI too would be giving that polecat a wide berth ! Why has Kat got so many pots of aloe vera? Medicinal purposes?
ReplyDeleteJust something to brighten her room and easy to look after.
DeleteCan't say I blame Rick! I'm not sure I'd be that enamoured with Jeremiah, but I can see that he is an easy pet. I wonder, will you miss him when he's gone?
ReplyDeleteI shall definitely miss him although I think he will be with us for quite some time.
DeleteJust catching up after a quick, unexpected trip to New York City . … we are such jet setters this year !
ReplyDeleteHope your daughter's health has improved. They have had a bit of rain in Sydney so the smoke problem may have settled a bit.
Jeremiah is certainly different but I'm sure that he will make a nice quiet companion for Rick. I can just see the two of them asleep by the fire on a cold Winter's night !!
He's a bit macabre but rather handsome too. Those bushfires in Oz have been bad this year. (Your trip to NY looked amazing.)
