Peony

Such a bitterly cold wind blowing at the moment.  I didn't feel like lingering in the garden this afternoon but, after returning home with Rick after his walk, I took the opportunity to photo the tree peony that has just come into bloom.  I think the flowers are stunning.

  1. That is beautiful. Our peony (not a tree peony) still only has very tight buds.

    1. It's an early one, our bush peonies are only just out of the ground.

  4. Yes. A lovely flower Sue. But why include a picture of Greyfriars Bobby?

    1. This first year in our new garden is really quite exciting.

  7. Beautiful flowers. I don't expect ours to flower this year, we only planted them a year ago. I hope ours will be equally as good.

    1. They certainly have 'show-off' blooms.

  8. Rick looks as if he has just had a bath! Does he shed his fur, or does he have to be groomed? He is gorgeous. What breed is he?
I have a schnauzer and a yorkie...both cost a fortune in grooming fees, but worth it not to be vacuuming hair up all the time like I had to with my previous dog! He was some sort of " mongrel" with a thick white undercoat beneath his tan topcoat. The white stuff fell out at an alarming rate!

    1. Rick is a Labrit - a Pyrenean Shepherd dog. He is shedding some fur at the moment but we groom him ourselves because he is a rescue dog and gets nervous in unfamiliar surroundings. When the weather gets warmer we will give him a nice sudsy bath!

  9. I adore the tree peony - I had a yellow one at the farm but I prefer the pink I think.
Rick is just as he should be - adorable.
