Day four of the window installation. The guys are working at both ends of the bungalow so I have retreated into the garden room with Rick to keep out of their way. Today they are replacing the kitchen patio doors and the front porch door. They will be back on Monday to do the big one – the massive garden room sliding doors.

The weather has been kind to us although it does get a bit draughty when there is a big hole in the wall. Hopefully there won’t be a blizzard blowing on Monday. It will be a huge relief when everything is finished and I can sit back and admire my shiny new windows.
Rick’s intermittent barking is driving me mad. It’s not his fault, every time he hears a strange noise he yelps. It gets tiresome after a while. I look forward to his afternoon walk when we can escape the noise and disruption for a while. If the sun is still out later there will be families out walking with their children. I will try and choose a quiet route so that we can just amble along and enjoy the English countryside. Snowdrops and aconites are just poking through the winter grass and it’s a reassuring sight that Spring is not far away.
