Find Me Some Sand

We switched the television on at lunch time expecting to watch our regular Bargain Hunt programme and were surprised to see Theresa May standing outside number 10 Downing Street announcing a surprise General Election for 8th June.

Paul chose to watch all the news coverage with the political statements and listen to the pundits’ speculation whilst I decided to give it all a miss and take my lunchtime glass of wine outside into the garden.

There is a cold, north wind blowing today but I managed to find a sunny, sheltered spot in the corner of the courtyard.  I sipped my wine and watched the butterflies and bees working hard and gathering nectar from the wisteria blooms.  I am just weary of politics and world affairs.

    1. Always guaranteed to be warm when there's a cold wind blowing.

  2. Isn't it early for wisteria? Bit like the election. I'm going to be avoiding the party broadcasts and join you with wine. It is cold. My hands are chapping again.

    1. It's been out for a couple of weeks now, we are always a bit ahead of the UK here with plants.

  3. Always wondered what wisteria looked like. I can`t even get clematis to grow here although some of my neighbours can.

    1. It grows like a weed in these parts. We have to keep it under control because it's a bit of a monster.

  4. And here we have the crazy right, the even crazier left, and an unknown who promises the world in the middle. The latter will probably win.

    1. Anything could happen in these crazy times. It's all a bit worrying.

  5. At least you have the beautiful wisteria and a glass of wine to console you. I think the beaches here will be full of all those fed up with elections and Brexit, burying their heads in the sand. I think I'll join them !
