Bringing Chaos Into Order

Today I am playing truant and staying at home while Paul is doing some decorating and repair work at the flat.  I have to be here to await a courier delivery - new vertical blind slats for the patio windows.

To amuse myself I have been unpacking Kat’s boxes of clothes.  Storage space is restricted to a small wardrobe and the four drawers under her king size bed (it doesn’t seem quite fair that Paul and I fight for space in our compact double bed while Kat luxuriates in her king size).  I can imagine her frantically turning the place upside down when she’s looking for an item of clothing so I have drawn up a clothes map for her and sent it to her ‘phone.  Kat has just replied,  That is so organised it makes my head explode.

Now I just need to colour co-ordinate the clothes in her wardrobe...

    1. I haven't read her book but I do know all about her. I'm a great fan of her ideas, I really don't like too much clutter.

  4. I hope the RAF is well-organised - just like your clothes map. Does the RAF make Kat's head explode?

    1. Kat folds her clothes with absolute precision in her RAF room. (These clothes are never touched - just for show when they get inspected!) An exploding head is not a nice thought.

    1. I think I have some characteristics of Type A but conversely I can be very lazy, calm and laid back (but only after all the jobs/problems have been tackled!).

    1. My girls hate being organised, I think they've rebelled against me.

  7. I have a friend who has colour co-ordinated her entire wardrobe. She never appears in public unless matching from head to toe - how I envy her. I often emerge into public life wearing the colours of the rainbow. I found a pair of trousers yesterday which I have not had on for two years. They were expensive and I love them but I just never came across them hanging in my wardrobe - I am really enjoying them today.

  8. My day wouldn't be complete without my wife shouting down from upstairs "Have you seen my xxxx"? Chaos rules this house (not that I like it).

    1. We have plenty of those moments. I like to tidy up but then I forget where I've put something.

  9. I am also meticulously organised and this has helped during my illness; family and friends were able to find things for me. However, I do get mocked for it!

    2. I am chaotic in what I have, which is not much, but I never lose anything.

    1. That sounds like a useful husband to me even if you do have to organise him.

  11. If Kat is wearing a uniform most of the time, will she ever bother to come back to collect - and wear - all those clothes you've stored so lovingly for her?

    1. I doubt it, although there's a lot of summery holiday stuff. She did actually give a huge amount away to the charity shops.
