Sad

We still have a few apples on one of our trees.  The blackbirds are feasting on them today, at one point there were six in the tree at the same time.  They only seem to do this when the weather is really cold.

Kat has just gone jogging with Rick.  Sarah is packing her suitcase.  Today is the last day of our family holiday and there is some sadness in the air.   Tomorrow Sarah flies back to Sydney and Kat returns to camp.  It’s been a good three weeks.  I think Sarah is keen to get back to Australia’s warm sunshine and Buddy but she is not totally happy.

A broken heart takes a long time to fix.

  1. A long time indeed and sadly no-one else can really help the process of healing.

  2. It sure does. I am sure she will share with me a little of how I was feeling the day before yesterday. Lots of love from here.

    1. Thanks Rachel. It's been hard for her, someone who shall not be named wed his new love over the Christmas period.

    2. I have friends who tell me how I should be dealing with things, like it is easy peasey. It isn't.

  3. Oh, it seems just the other day when your daughters were arriving. I'm sorry the visit is over already. I'm sure Rick is going to miss his girls, but Buddy is going to be thrilled to have Sarah back. Safe travels to Sarah and Kat.

    1. Time passes so quickly when you don't want it to. Rick is definitely going to miss his girls, especially his running partner.

  5. I hope that Sarah links up with a Yorkshireman. Yorkshiremen are honest, reliable, loving and devilishly handsome. However, it's not easy to move on and grasp the future when you have been terribly hurt.

  7. The hardest part is that she is so far away from you all - even with skype and Facetime etc.Perhaps the fact that he is married now will help her come to grips with the finality of it all.
Tell her to pack her bags and move to Queensland !!

  8. My heart goes out to Sarah. It makes it so hard when the other party seems to move on so fast and gets married in a flash. She will find love again, but it will take a while until her heart is fully mended.

  9. Oh for those days when a kiss and a sticking plaster made everything better. If I had a magic wand I would send it over.

    2. I know, and I feel for you, and your daughter.
(One of my offspring is going through a 'difficult' time, my heart aches for him, but there is nothing I can do to make it better.)

  10. Sarah knows that you are always there for her and that's the best we can be.
