Cases are packed. Tried to squeeze Buddy in but there just wasn’t enough room and I couldn’t close the lid without his ears sticking out. Today we are all trying to keep cool indoors, outside it’s like a hot tumbler dryer. With temperatures in Sydney reaching 39 degrees today the pavements are too hot for Buddy’s paws so he will have to wait until this evening for his walk.
My mosquito bites are driving me mad. I’ve been fairly bite free for most of our stay but we were caught on the hop last night when we were invited around for drinks by Sarah’s neighbour. I forgot to use the mosquito spray and while we were drinking wine and eating nibbles in Jenny’s pretty garden I could feel the little buggers nibbling me too. They are the sort of bites that blow up to the size of a golf ball even before I start scratching them.
Tonight we are visiting my favourite eatery, the Sushi Train, for our farewell meal. We will be setting off for the airport at 5.30 a.m. for our first leg to Hong Kong. I am so not looking forward to the next 48 hours.
I remember in the Cayman Islands, all the houses had outdoor rooms which were protected by Mosquito netting. If you stood against the netting for a while there would be a type of shadow left behind when you moved; that shadow was mosquitoes.

Sixteen hours is too long for me in one hit and it's 40% more expensive. And a long bus ride to Sydney, I haven't got enough credit left on my Opal card.
