Ticket to Manly

Google did something to my photo...

Today we decided to use up some of the credit on our Opal cards.  We jumped onto the late morning bus to Manly.  The bus was packed so Paul and I had to share a seat.  It was really too hot to be that close to each other.  An overweight lady of mature years got up every time the bus stopped to ask “Is this Condamine Street?”  A whole bunch of school boys crowded on to the bus. The lady pushed them back off, saying “Out of my way, I want to get off the bus.”  They all trooped off the bus, the lady asked the driver “Is this Condamine Street?”  “No, next stop love.”

We got off the bus at the Manly terminus and headed towards Hugos, a restaurant perched on the wharf overlooking the sea.  It was very hot today so the breeze off the water was very welcome. We had a very un-vegan meal and shared a bottle of wine.  After lunch we staggered off the wharf and directly on to the ferry.  A half hour cruise to Circular Quay and then we hopped on to the ferry for a ten minute trip back to Cremorne Point.  Finally a five minute bus (that actually took twenty because of a traffic jam) ride back up the hill to the flat.

Buddy, we’re home!

  1. What a lovely day out, and one you'll remember with pleasure when it's cold and miserable back home in the UK. Buddy is going to miss you as much as you'll miss him.

    1. He'll soon forget us. I wouldn't want him to be sad.

  4. I don't know what Google did to your photo - but I love it - kind of 1950's in style don't you think.
