The Most Wonderful Time of the Year

Carols from King’s will evoke memories for many readers here but these two albums always take me back to my 1960’s childhood Christmasses.  After my parents divorced I hung on to the two vinyl LP’s and my own daughters were then subjected to a musical Christmas of Johnny Mathis and Andy Williams.  They still love it to this very day.

 Merry Christmas everyone!

  1. Happy Christmas Sue. We were never into Andy Williams in our house; my mother was more Little Richard and Billy Fury.

  3. Oh Yeah!! I had that one & the one where Andy Williams sings the theme songs from all the great movies - Moon River, Three Coins in the Fountain etc. I packed them around with me & played them every year until my mother stole them from me. I think she finished wearing out the grooves! Put on your pastel cardigan, fire up the turn table & play that album one time for ME. And have yourself a Merry Little Judy Garland Christmas time!!

  4. I will be watching my favourite Christmas movie tonight - "Love, Actually". It always makes me weepy. Enjoy the big day tomorrow (although it's probably today for you now).

  5. The typeface used on the Andy Williams record is exactly the same as on a mixed Christmas CD I am playing. I wonder if its designer had your album too?

  6. What youthful memories those two singers conjure up for me too. Anything by either of them, or Jack Jones, was always welcome, and I played the records for years. One of my favourite Mathis songs has always been "I'll Be Easy To Find"- on the same album as "Misty".
    Have a wonderful Christmas.

  9. They were two hot guys! Almost as hot as your Paul. Which one did you fancy most? Johnny or Andy?
(Hope you had a lovely Xmas)
