Philippe lit his big bonfire this morning, Paul joined in the fun. In no time at all the heap of woody rubbish was reduced to ashes.
The wisteria is looking amazing right now and it smells delicious. The honey bees and bumble bees are having a wonderful time.
So you also have a visteria (beautiful), wait until Tom S. will see it.

ReplyDeleteThat's a very precise date! Everything seems a bit earlier here this year, the lilac is out too.
DeleteFor 15 years I walked past some wisteria on a church fence on my way to my office near when I parked my car and I started to note when it came out each year. It averaged 9 May up until 2002 when I stopped walking that route. I also have figures such as this for the arrival date of the house martins at my previous house.

DeleteWhen I walk past mine, the perfume is amazing. Someone told me recently that fires were no longer allowed; I said, in which case don't tell anyone.

DeleteWe frequently have a "burn" as well. I agree that your picture looks like a painting! I'm not sure wisteria would grow here, but it is so beautiful. Do the blooms last very long? -Jenn
ReplyDeleteThe blooms last for about three to four weeks. Then you get the occasional bloom that crops up throughout the summer, peeping through the leaves. Smells delicious at the moment.
