The Wolf

I am not exactly mad about watching films these days, probably because I have the attention span of a goldfish.  It usually means that it takes me a year or three to watch something after it is first released.  (That’s why I haven’t seen The Girl On The Train yet and – oh never mind.)  Last night I tried to watch The Wolf of Wall Street.  I managed about an hour of it.  I even broke my rule and ate chocolate to try and enhance the experience.  It just seemed to be a constant blast of sex, drugs, violence, orgies and greed.  Frightening to think it is based on true life. So I gave up and watched Call The Midwife, much easier to watch.

Eating the Sunday night chocolate seems to have added about a kilo to my weight.  I knew I should not have succumbed to temptation.  I blame Paul (he gets the blame for everything).

“I could kill a bar of chocolate.”
“Well have one then.”
“I won’t be able to get into my cycling shorts.”
“Don’t worry, they’re elasticated.”

  1. I wasn't too keen on that movie either, although I did stay with it 'til the end. Chocolate is the devil. -Jenn

  2. Well I've watched it but can't remember the storyline. Maybe I was busy eating chocolate.

  3. One fact for which I am eternally grateful is that I do not care for chocolate.

    1. It's my only weakness (and it has to be Cadbury's milk chocolate).

  5. I eat lots of chocolate. I cannot watch films at home, I do not have the attention span to do so. I have paid for Sky Movies subscription for over 20 years and never used it. I can take myself off to the cinema though and watch a full length film and enjoy it. It has to be in the afternoon though and I have an icecream.

    1. The last time I went to the cinema it was a star wars type of film on an IMAX screen and I got terribly travel sick.

  7. We watch so few movies, they all seem to want to preach to me about something. Chocolate is good for you, I'm positive.

    1. A little of what you fancy does you good - especially if it's chocolate!

  8. I have a blood test this morning (in about an hour), and a visit to the doc' in the week. I have a feeling that Christmas, and the cold weather, has paid its toll. I can't bring myself to use the scales.

  9. I find movies difficult to watch at home. Too many distractions, I think. Too easy to get up and make a cup of tea etc. I'd much rather watch Call the Midwife though I have to record it and watch when Tony's not round. He gets squeamish with all the birth scenes !!!

    1. A programme that lasts about an hour is ideal for me. Some of these films are just too long.
