Murky Day

It’s a murky, damp morning in darkest Wiltshire.  I decided against going for a walk and cleared my wardrobe out instead while Paul made soup for lunch.

I’m not very good at throwing clothes out.  I get attached to well loved jumpers and then there’s always that ‘never worn’ dress that might be needed one day.  The black lacy top might look good at the flamenco in Seville. The fur hat a necessity for a trip to Siberia.  I have a pair of sparkly high heels that I probably can’t even manage to stay upright in these days.

I did quite well and managed to almost fill a bag with reluctant cast offs.

But I still have the sparkly shoes tucked away in a box at the bottom of the wardrobe.

  1. It's murky in South Yorkshire too.
I see you have got Paul well trained. You swan about the house while he slaves away in the kitchen. What a topsy-turvy world we inhabit!

  3. Good for you getting rid of some clothes. You likely won't even notice they are gone in a little while. You'd better save those shoes. You never know when an "event" might happen and you need to be decked out! -Jenn

    1. Barely worn shoes are even harder to throw away.

  4. I go through my wardrobe twice a year and put anything I no longer wear in a bag for the Salvation Army. But like you I have some things I just can't bear to part with.

    1. You're more disciplined than I am Pat. I'm very pleased with my tidy wardrobe now though.

  5. What about that yellow stuff you bought? That's for Seville.

    1. I kept the yellow stuff for daytime Seville, black lace for evening flamenco. What hat are you wearing for Vienna?

    2. A weatherproof kind of Barbour type with a red edge.
