Home Alone

We got up at 5.30 this morning to take Sarah and the Bearded One to the airport.  They are on their way to Delhi for a three week adventure in India.  One week doing the tourist stuff, one week in a mountain retreat and the final week working at an elephant sanctuary.  I’m quite envious.

We dropped them at departures and then Paul took control of the Ute, a macho beast of a vehicle. We are not too familiar with the city roads so I did wonder if we might spend the rest of the day trying to find our way home but it was a doddle, even more so after I figured out how to switch the sat nav on.

So we now have full custody of Buddy for three weeks.  Sarah left me with last minute instructions.  “Don’t let him drink wine, don’t give him ice, don't forget he's vegan so strictly no pork sausages ...”  Buddy and me are going to be just fine (I won't put any ice in his whiskey).

  3. I don't expect Buddy understands that he's a teetotal vegan, so......

Mornings have become quite cold here, next Tuesday we are promised 4 C. You have made a good travel decision.

    3. The Cranes flew over yesterday heading South. Very nostalgic.

    4. I've only ever seen the cranes fly over on one occasion. It's an impressive sight and rather sad as it's a sure sign that winter is coming.

  4. What adventures you can have now. Very exciting. I had to go back and read 5 to catch up. We have a frangipani stick here that flowered indoors the first year and since has only thrown huge leaves. Maybe we should let it die back to re flower. I'm looking forward to your travel blog pics. Yes I'd drench myself with a fountain too. I even drench my coats by putting them down in those automatic sinks.

  5. Poor Buddy - no pork sausages, but did they say no beef sausages too?

  6. I thought that they made Vegan/Veggie sausages. I always thought that it is not the taste, content or even quality that dogs find attractive it's that you have given them something of yours to eat!

  8. I feel like I should be saving a yak while I am in Siberia now. Perhaps I will pretend. I will look a little like them but no flip flops

    1. Your feet would get a little cold in flip flops. How will you pretend to save a yak?
